Different towns and cities have evolved over different economic and cultural cycles – we need to view them as dynamic organic habitats. We need to understand, accept and creatively guide change.
KMA believe in the importance of good design as a contributor to securing economic and social well-being, and Kevin Murray has long been an advocate and teacher of positive place-making.
Our approach combines understanding the genius loci of a place, together with using collaborative spatial design techniques to assist planners, developers or the community to approach things differently in their town. This might include charrettes, masterplans and design codes, depending on their appropriateness to the challenge.
